PlayMancer participated at the Open Day event of the European Commission at the Barleymont building in Brussels.
The event took place on Saturday 7th of May, during a bright sunny day that welcomed about 20000 visitors, families and kids to the world of the European Commission, behind the walls of their main building. The stand where PlayMancer was present also hosted 2 other Serious Games projects; Re-Play and Spel-ler. The stand was continuously swarmed by people, eager to play, test and learn about the projects and their demonstrable results. Our setup was consisting of a laptop and a projection screen positioned a few meters away. On the laptop the mental health game was running, and the project members that were present were explaining to the guests that input devices and additional peripherals was not able to be ported to the event because they were needed for the field trials that were active in other places.
Our support project team, comprised of Stephanie Kosterink from RRD, Niki Rovatsou from Systema Technologies, and Tony Lam from NetUnion, kindly welcomed the bigger and smaller guests, instructed them about how to play one of the PlayMancer games, and also introduced the objectives of the project.
Thanks to their patience and their persistence, a lot of the stand guests have enjoyed the PlayMancer experience, have been entertained and have been educated about how games can be serious (for a change). |
